Western South Dakota

Welcome to Stillwater Hospice, your trusted partner in compassionate end-of-life care in Rapid City, South Dakota, and the surrounding Western region. We understand the unique challenges and complexities of providing exceptional hospice services, and we're here to offer leadership, direction, and a commitment to excellence.

Western South Dakota needed a reliable and compassionate alternative to the hospital-based system that left many unsatisfied. Recognizing this gap, we saw an opportunity to bring our expertise in hospice operation to the forefront, ensuring that individuals and families in the area receive the highest quality of care during life's final journey.

Our mission is clear: to be an invaluable asset to the Rapid City community and its surrounding areas, including reservations, by providing a much-needed choice in end-of-life care. Offering options enhances access to care and elevates the overall capacity and quality of services available to those in need.

With a focus on growth and expansion, we are committed to increasing our footprint in the region, extending our reach to more communities and individuals who can benefit from our unique approach to hospice care. Central to our philosophy is the belief that every person deserves to spend their final days in comfort and dignity, surrounded by compassionate professionals who genuinely care.

At Stillwater Hospice, we not only prioritize the well-being of our patients and their families but also that of our dedicated team members. By fostering a work environment that promotes collaboration, support, and fulfillment, we ensure that everyone who walks through our doors – whether as a patient, family member, or employee – feels valued, respected, and cared for.

Join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of those facing end-of-life challenges in Western South Dakota. We can provide comfort, support, and peace during life's most challenging moments.

Stillwater Hospice of South Dakota is honored to be recognized as a We Honor Veterans hospice partner — level two.

We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), invites hospices, state hospice organizations, Hospice-Veteran Partnerships and VA facilities to join a pioneering program focused on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgment. By recognizing the unique needs of America’s Veterans and their families, community providers, in partnership with VA staff, will learn how to accompany and guide them through their life stories toward a more peaceful ending.
