Stillwater Hospice Expands Care in Gillette, Wyoming
Big news is unfolding for Stillwater Hospice—and more importantly, for the communities we serve across the region.
As part of our continued commitment to expanding access to compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care, we’re growing in a way that strengthens both our reach and our roots. This next step reflects not only where we’re going, but what we value most: preserving local care, supporting caregivers, and ensuring patients and families have the resources they need—close to home.
Wyoming-Based Program Joins Montana-Grown Organization to Strengthen Local Hospice Services and Access
Stillwater Hospice, a leading provider of end-of-life care across Montana and the surrounding region, today announced the acquisition of Campbell County Health Hospice (CCH Hospice), effective June 1, 2026. This strategic expansion brings together two mission-driven organizations committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality hospice care close to home.
CCH Hospice, based in Gillette, Wyoming, has long been recognized for its dedication to patients and families in Campbell County and surrounding communities. By joining Stillwater Hospice, the program will gain access to expanded clinical resources, enhanced support services, and a broader regional network—while maintaining its deep local roots and trusted care teams.
“This partnership is about honoring what CCH Hospice has built while strengthening and expanding access to exceptional hospice care in northeastern Wyoming,” said Chris Graham, co-founder of Stillwater Hospice. “We are committed to preserving the local relationships and compassionate approach that patients and families rely on, while bringing additional resources to support both caregivers and the communities they serve.”
Patients and families currently receiving care through CCH Hospice will experience no interruption in services. The existing care team will continue to provide the same personalized, compassionate support they are known for, now backed by Stillwater Hospice’s broader infrastructure and clinical expertise.
“Joining Stillwater Hospice allows us to build on our legacy of care while ensuring long-term sustainability and growth,” said Ashley Montague, Director of Campbell County Health Hospice. “Together, we can expand our reach and continue to serve our community with the dignity, respect, and compassion every patient deserves.”
Looking Ahead: Community Conversations and Future Care
Stillwater Hospice leadership shared that they are currently working with the Northeast Wyoming Community Health Foundation in evaluating the future of inpatient hospice services in the community, including the potential role of a hospice house, as part of a broader, long-term approach to meeting local needs.
“We understand how meaningful hospice house services can be for patients and families,” said Chris Graham, co-founder of Stillwater Hospice. “Our focus right now is on listening, learning, and thoughtfully assessing how we can best support this community. Any future decisions will be made with careful consideration of patient needs, community input, and long-term sustainability.”
Although the Foundation, the Hospital and Stillwater all recognize the desire and importance for a community based Hospice House, at this time, there is no confirmed timeline regarding the reopening of the facility. Stillwater Hospice remains committed to expanding access to high-quality hospice care across all settings, including in-home and facility-based care throughout the region. All parties will be engaged in conversations in the coming months.
