Celebrating the Unsung Heroes

Hospice Team Caregivers the Heartbeat of Compassionate Care at Stillwater Hospice

At Stillwater Hospice, our caregivers are more than professionals—they're the steady, compassionate presence walking beside patients and families through life's final chapter. Whether it's our nurses, social workers, chaplains, or volunteers, each team member brings a deep commitment to providing care rooted in empathy, connection, and respect.

Hospice care is about far more than managing symptoms. It's about recognizing the person behind the diagnosis—listening, honoring wishes, and finding a way to say yes to what matters most, creating moments that bring comfort and meaning. You'll find our caregivers going the extra mile daily: a nurse humming a patient's favorite tune during visits, a social worker helping a family navigate complex decisions, or a volunteer showing up with a warm smile and a calming presence.

There's the chaplain who brings peace through prayer or simply silent company and the nurse who learns a few words in a patient's first language to offer a more profound sense of comfort. One of our favorite therapy dogs even makes regular rounds, spreading joy with every tail wag.

This month, we pause to recognize the incredible team of caregivers of Stillwater Hospice. They show up with open hearts, quiet strength, and a commitment to making each day count. Their work often goes unseen, but the impact they leave behind is profound.

Join us in celebrating these everyday heroes—because the love and care they offer are nothing short of extraordinary.
